Im not sure what the little story I am about to tell has to do with rentals, but its about driving in a foreign country, so take it as food for thought.
Ive never rented a car abroad, but I drove once in Paris. Some Colombian friends were taking me out for a night on the town. They were afraid of the cops, and I looked a lot whiter than them, so they asked me to drive. France is not known as a very corrupt country, but if just getting behind the wheel of a car is enough to get a legal resident in trouble, how much more risky would it be for someone on a tourist visa?
